Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC, was conferred “CMD of the Year Award” for his exemplary role in promotion & development of MSMEs, thereby making commendable contribution in the growth of MSMEs in India. The award was conferred by Bharat Nirman, a NGO which has been engaged in advocacy of social issues.
Team NSIC welcomes Dr. Anup K Pujari, Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Born in 1956, Pujari is a post-graduate from the University of Boston, and a Doctorate in Economics. Shri Pujari has served the Central and Karnataka Govt. in various capacities.
Shri Ravindra Nath,CMD,NSIC celebrated International Yoga Day with NSIC Employees. The yoga practice taught by Volunteer from Isha Foundation were simple yet complete enough to engage employees and prove its effectiveness for their well-being. All the employees enthusiastically participated to make it a grand success. His Excellency Mr. Jakaya Kikwete, President of United Republic of Tanzania visited NSIC Incubation Centre on 18th June, 2015. Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC welcomed the Hon’ble President and apprised him the model of Rapid Incubation and importance of such Incubation support in the creation of Entrepreneurs and Small Enterprises. The Hon’ble President appreciated NSIC in establishing the Incubation Centre and expressed his eagerness to adopt similar Incubation Programme in Tanzania in association with NSIC. He also asked NSIC to assist SIDO in devising appropriate model of Business in order provide handholding and sustainable assistance to SMEs in Tanzania. The President was also accompanied by the First Lady and various Ministers in his cabinet along with CEOs of several leading Govt. owned Institutions. Sh. Ravindra Nath, Chairman & Managing Director, National Small Industries Corporation, along with H.E. Ms. Vijay Thakur Singh, High Commissioner of India to Singapore, inaugurated the Global Summit on Make in India at Singapore on June 12, 2015. CMD, NSIC also led a delegation of Micro and Small Enterprises from India to Singapore on this occasion. Objective of the visit was to promote manufacturing strengths of Indian enterprises and explore opportunities for collaborations amongst enterprises of India and Singapore. CMD, NSIC in his inaugural address said that Singapore and India have potential opportunities for development of sustainable business alliances in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise sector. Therefore, closer cooperation with Singapore is perceived in this field which would be about sharing of knowledge, exchange of best practices, supporting innovation and building capacity & skills and enhancing cooperation between enterprises of Singapore and India in terms of technology transfers, joint ventures or any form of sustainable business alliances. Sh. Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC along with H.E. Ms. Vijay Thakur Singh, High Commissioner of India at Singapore also released a Report on “Indian MSME Industry Overview and Opportunities” prepared by Frost & Sullivan. Enterprises and oraganisations dealing with MSMEs from Singapore participated in the event. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Mahesh Gupta, Chairman, Kent RO Systems Ltd., Mr. R. Narayanamohan, Past President, Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) and Mr. S. Narayanan, Vice President, Frost & Sullivan and Mr. Pradeep Maithani, Chairman, Prospur Events Pte Ltd. organiser of the event were also present.
Sh. P Udayakumar, Director (P&M) called on Mr. Binod Kumar, Director (Commercial), SAIL on 27.5.2015 at SAIL`s Corporate Office, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Sh. Sunil Bali, GM-SG (BD) also accompanied issues related to supply of Steel to MSMEs and further cooperation between NSIC & SAIL were also discussed.
Sh. P. Udayakumar, Director (P&M) visited BO Raipur and had meeting with Mr. S.K. Singh, IAS, Secretary to CM & Secretary Commerce & Industry Deptt. of Chhattisgarh Government and Mr. K. Goel, IAS, Director of Industries of Chhattisgarh Government. During the meeting Sh. P. Udayakumar apprised them about NSIC`s activities and requested for support of Chhattisgarh Government to NSIC in all fronts.
Shri Kalraj Mishra, Hon`ble Union Minister ,Ministry of Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises (Government of India) released a report at the Valedictory Function of INTEC 2015(Coimbatore) in the presence of Shri P.Udayakumar,Director(P&M),NSIC .The International Machine Tools and Industrial Trade Fair (INTEC 2015 edition )was jointly organised by NSIC in association with CODISSIA.
Rajasthan Shows keen interest to set up NSIC –Incubation Centers Mr. Rajeeva Swarup, I.A.S, Principal Secretary to Government of Rajasthan for Small Scale Industries & K.V.I, visited NSIC Incubation Center on 4th June 2015. After taking the tour to the center, he expressed desire to set up similar centers in selected districts in Rajasthan under ASPIRE scheme so as to develop self entrepreneurship among the youths in the state.Shri Satvinder Singh,GM(SG),NTSC conducted the delegation.
NSIC has entered into Memorandum of Understanding with Central Bank of India on 29th May, 2015 to strengthen its sustained endeavors towards facilitating credit under NSIC’s Bank Tie-up Scheme for Credit Facilitation to MSME Sector for sustainable development of MSMEs in the country. The MoU was signed by Shri Rajan Trehan, General Manager (Finance), NSIC and Shri K. K. Taneja, Field General Manager, Central Bank of India in presence of Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC, Shri R. C. Lodha, ED, Central Bank of India and other officials from both sides.
NSIC signed agreement with Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MOTIE), Government of Gambia (recipient organization from Gambia) for setting up Vocational Training Center (VTC)/ Incubation center (IC) in Gambia. Mr. Abdoulie Jobe, Hon’ble Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, Government of Gambia, Mr. Ram Mohan, Honorary Consul of India in Gambia were also present during the signing of agreement.
