Shri Navin Chopra, CGM(SG), NSIC alongwith NSIC employees administered the pledge on World No Tobacco Day (WNTD). The focus of World No Tobacco Day 2019 is on "tobacco and lung health." Every year, on 31 May, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day (WNTD). The annual campaign is focused on raising awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure, and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form.Shri Gaurang Dixit,CGM(Fin),NSIC alongwith other senior officers was also present on this occasion.
03 Jun 2019Shri P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) addressed the Indian diaspora in the programme organised by PIOCCI in Dubai on 27th May, 2019
Shri P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) was invited by PIOCCI (Platform for Indian to operate, Co-operate Collaborate and invest) a global business platform for Indian diaspora to address the Non-resident Indians during the IFTAR event of Gulf chapter of PIOCCI on 27th May, 2019. DPM spoke about the existing SME friendly Eco system in India and the opportunities available for SMEs of both the countries to increase the trade between them. Major initiatives taken by the Ministry of MSME including digital initiatives during the last 3-4 years were also briefed by DPM to the gathering of around 200 NRIs. DPM also had a meeting with the Ambassador of India in UAE Sh. Navdeep Singh Suri and discussed about the possibilities of increasing the trade between the SMEs of both the countries.
03 Jun 2019The National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) signs the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for the year 2019-20.
The National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) signs the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for the year 2019-20. The MOU was signed by Shri Ram Mohan Mishra, AS & DC (MSME) and CMD (NSIC) with Dr. Arun Kumar Panda, Secretary, MSME, Govt. of India in the presence of Ms. Alka Nangia Arora, Joint Secretary, SME, Ms Mercy Epao, Director (SME), Shri P. Udayakumar, Director -P&M (NSIC) and Shri A.K. Mittal, Director-Finance (NSIC). The said MoU envisages provision of enhanced services by NSIC under its Marketing, Financial, Technology and Other support services schemes, for MSMEs in the country. The Corporation projects to increase ‘Revenue from Operation’ by 22% from Rs. 2540 crore in the year 2018-19 to 3100 crore in the year 2019-20. Corporation also projects growth of 32% in ‘Profitability’ during the year 2019-20. NSIC also plans to enhance its activities in the areas of imparting entrepreneurship and skill development training by targeting 45% growth in the number of trainees. Under the scheme of National SC-ST Hub, being implemented by NSIC on behalf of the Ministry, NSIC’s continued endeavour shall be to provide assistance to the SC/ST Entrepreneurs through different interventions and various outreach activities with the overall objectives to increase their participation in public procurement. Dr. A.K. Panda, Secretary, MSME, while appreciating the performance of NSIC, urged the Corporation to create niche activities for itself. He also suggested that greater efforts be made to expand reach of NSIC so as to serve larger number of MSMEs.

The deliberations were on the scaling of existing business and adding new verticals for the growth of the Organization. All Officers of NTSC Chennai and Officers of Zone –III in Chennai attended.

P.Udayakumar Director (P&M) NSIC visited Bangalore on 07-08, May 2019 and met Secretary, MSME, Government of Karnataka and Commissioner of Industries, Government of Karnataka and held detailed discussion about enhancing the reach of Ministry of MSME schemes with the active involvement and support of State Government. Also discussed about the support of State Government for reviving the MSME DEFEXPO - 2019. Secretary, MSME, GOK, assured to provide all the required support from the Government of Karnataka. Also discussed about the NSSH activities and sought the closer participation of State Government Institutes/Departments to enhance the SC-ST beneficiaries.For reviving the MSME DEFEXPO an Interactive meeting was held with MSME associations office Bearers of all the leading associations of Karnataka viz., KASSIA, FKCCI, Peenya Industries Association, COWE, AWAKE, eMERG,LUB - Karnataka, FISME, ASSOCHEM (Souther Region), CLIK and DHEEP. All the participants gave their suggestions and valuable feedback and appreciated the initiative take by the Ministry for deciding to hold such first consultation meeting at Bangalore.Visited Zonal office and interacted with the officers of the Corporation . CGM, South - I made presentation on achievements of Zone South - I and briefed about the significant achievements of 2018-2019.

Two days residential training program on Self – Empowerment was conducted by Brahma Kumaris at the Om Shanti Retreat Centre, Gurgaon on 03-04 May, 2019 for our senior Management including Director (P&M) and Director (Finance). 40 officers from NSIC and 5 officers from Ministry of MSME attended the program. The topics which were covered during the program were Overcoming Ego, Conflict Resolution, Building Teams – Accumulating Success and Enhancing Decision Making Skills. Mr. Ram Mohan Mishra, CMD NSIC and AS & DC (MSME) addressed the participants and shared his thoughts during the closing session of the program on 04th May, 2019.

Director (P&M), NSIC met Sh. Dharmendra Pratap Yadav, Secretary MSME, Govt. of Tamilnadu at his office and discussed about the possibilities of partnering with Tamilnadu Small Industries Development Corporation Limited (TANSIDCO) & MSME Department, Govt. of Tamilnadu for commercial and Promotional activities. Secretary expressed his acceptance to promote the growth of MSMEs in the state. It was decided to share the draft MoU prepared by NSIC with the Dept. of MSME, Govt. of TN for relevant commercial operation. Further Director (P&M) had a meeting with Branch heads of BO Ambattur & Chennai. Director (P&M) also visited Central Footwear Training Institute (CFTI) and distributed tool kits to the trainees who were attending the 6 months course training on Footwear Design and Production. Director (P&M) along with Zonal Head, South-III visited NSSHO-Chennai, reviewed their performance for the year 2018-19 and enquired about the customers visiting the office and advised to prepare the success stories of the beneficiaries of NSSHO Chennai.

NTSC Hyderabad got approval from SBTET , Telangana (State Board Of Technical Education And Training) for conducting various certificate course in engineering department which includes mechanical, electrical, electronics, computer science and management disciplines. duration of course is minimum of 6 months to 1 year. At the end of successful completion of course we support them getting placement in core field.

Shri. P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) had a meeting with State Bank of India officals Sh. Haridas K.V., Deputy Managing Director (Retail Business) and Sh. Narayanan Sadanandan, Chief General Manager (SME & Supply Chain Finance). Director (P&M) presented the existing NSIC schemes available for MSMEs with main focus on Financing to MSMEs, RMA against BG, and Bank Tie up. Director (P&M) mainly discussed on the point that how SBI bank would like to have more tie up with NSIC for circular finance / inventory finance for MSMEs. Scope for New Vertical for Machine Selling was discussed with SBI officials. Discussion was also held for Micro Finance, as SBI is having the chain of agencies at district level. SBI officers pleased to inform that the same chain can be utilized by NSIC for reaching to MSMEs under to provide assistance under our various schemes. SBI officers found very positive and hopeful to join to work together for MSMEs and assured full fledge cooperation to work together for the mutual benefits of organization. Shri. P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) also had a meeting with Shri Pankaj Gadgil, Head (Self Employed Segment), ICICI Bank and Shri Jatin Govil, Product Head (Business & Loans), ICICI Bank. Main thrust during the discussion was on the subject that how ICICI bank would like to have more tie up with NSIC for circular finance / inventory finance for MSMEs. Mr. Gadgil explained about the bill discounting where NSIC can also extend the same facility for MSME. Mr. Gadgil explained about their facilities available for MSMEs and also informed that Plat-form of ICICI is available even for export oriented unit where NSIC can join with ICICI. Mr. Gadgil expressed that More MSMEs can be introduced to ICICI bank from the registered units available under Data Bank and ICICI bank can extend the loan facility by confirming the credit worthiness based on their transactions carried out by MSME units with NSIC. Meeting was ended on a positive note with assurance of full fledge cooperation to work together for the mutual benefits of MSMEs.
