In the presence of Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD,NSIC; a pledge was administered by Shri A.K. Mittal, Director (Finance), NSIC to all the Officers and Staff of NSIC, on the occasion of National Voters Day on 25th Jan 2018. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC stated that all NSICians must continue to give their best performance for the growth of NSIC and the MSME sector.
Sh. Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of MSME, Government of India and Minister of International Trade & Industry, Government of Malaysia, Dr. Mustapa Mohamed, witnessed the MoU for Cooperation in MSME sector signed between National Small Industries Corporation of India and SME Corp. Malaysia. The MoU was signed by Mr. Ravindra Nath, Chairman & Managing Director, NSIC and Dr. Hafsah Hashim, CEO, SME. Corp. Malaysia. Also present on the occasion were Sh. A.K. Panda, Secretary (MSME), Ms. Alka Arora, Joint Secretary (SME), and other senior officials of Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India and officials of Ministry of International Trade, Government of Malaysia were present on the occasion.
Sh. Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC welcomed Lt. Gen. Satish Dua, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chief of Staff Committee (CISC), on his visit to NSIC. Lt. Gen. Dua was shown NSIC’s Rapid Incubation Centre (RIC) for entrepreneurship creation and Advanced Training Centre for Skill Development. Sh. Nath apprised him about how this Centre is transforming youth from “employment seeker to job provider” by making them entrepreneurs and improving their skill sets by providing advanced training. Avenues between NSIC and Army for transforming their soldiers into entrepreneurs on completion of their terms, were also discussed. Lt. Gen Dua appreciated the appropriate technologies placed in the RIC and expressed his willingness to partner with NSIC to train/ skill the retiring soldiers or families of soldiers. He was accompanied by Col. Manoj Deshpande, DA to CISC during the visit.
Lohri is celebrated on the 13th day of January in the month of Paush or Magh, a day before Makar Sankranti. Makar Sankranti is celebrated as a very important festival in India. Sankranti literally means “movement.” Everything that we recognize as life is movement.The NSIC Lohri Celebrations was all about being with the NSIC family and thanking god for all the prosperity bestowed upon all of us.A bonfire was lit on the occasion by Shri A.K.Mittal, Director (Finance), NSIC and officers/staff present on the occasion and they invited all the other present on the occasion to take their turns to move around the Lohri bonfire and throw puffed rice and popcorns into the fire along with other sweets. This was followed by singing of Songs and Rhymes by NSIC employees. Lohri also coincides with the festivals of Pongal, Bhogali Bihu and Bhogi.
The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd.-NSIC organised a National SC ST Hub conclave at Guwahati. Shri Ravi Capoor, IAS Additional Chief Secretary, Industries & commerce Department, Govt. of Assam, Shri Prafulla Kumar Hazoary, ACS Comissioner & Secretary, Welfare of plain Tribes & Backward Classes, Govt. of Assam, Shri Ashwini Nagia, Executive Director (Material Management), ONGC, New Delhi. Shri Prabitra Buragohain, President FINER, Guwahati, Assam, Shri. J. K. Mahanta, Chief General Manager, NSIC Ltd, Guwahati, Dr. Pralay Dey, Chief General Manager, NSIC, New Delhi were the dignitaries.
A delegation led by Dr. Sumeet Jerath, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, visited NSIC Rapid Incubation Centre for entrepreneurship development and Advanced Training Centre on 5th January, 2018. Shri Prashant Agrawal, Joint Secretary, Ms. Priyanka Chuhan, Director (Finance) and Shri S. Chinpau Ngaihte, Under Secretary from Ministry of External Affairs were also present during the visit. Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC apprised him of various activities of NSIC for the promotion and development of MSMEs in India and abroad. During the visit, Dr. Jerath expressed that such Incubation Centres are appropriate for creation and development of MSMEs in developing countries including Africa.
Hon’ble CMD, NSIC visited Jaipur on 07.01.2018 to Grace the Panel Discussion as Guest of Honor for the Conference on the topic of “Nurturing and Promoting Young Entrepreneurs” Organized by Laghu udhyog Bharti during its India Industrial trade Fair 2018 at JECC, Sitapura, Jaipur. Dignitaries who attended the Conference were Mr. O. P. Mittal, Former National President (Laghu Udyog Bharti),Mr. Anil Chikara, Founder & CEO (BLuebolt Accelerator),Ms. Purnima Voria, Founder & President (NUICC),Mr. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of State Agriculture & Farmers Welfare,Mr. Gaurav Kapoor, Senior Head - Industry Partnership, CSR, Media & Advocacy (NSDC),Mrs. Shilesh Shekhawat, MD (JP Morgan Securities).
Sh. K Y Naik, IAS, Director (Employment & Training), Govt. of Telangana, visit to The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd.-NSIC Technical Service Centre, Hyderabad. He was very happy to see the infrastructure available at the centre and was impressed by the demand driven Skill Development courses being conducted at the centre.
Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC conveys his best wishes to Shri A.K. Panda, Secretary (MSME) on the occasion of New Year. He also apprised the Secretary about the activities NSIC shall be undertaking during the forthcoming period. Secretary (MSME) reciprocated the best wishes.
Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC meets with Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to discuss various activities carried out and to be undertaken by NSIC in the state of Odisha. CMD, NSIC also apprised Hon'ble Minister about the performance of NSIC in the last decade 2007-2017.
