Shri P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) NSIC addressed the gathering of young scholars in the Seminar organised by Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP) School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University ’ at JNU on 24.07.2019. Seminar was based on SOCIAL EXCLUSION AND INCLUSIVE POLICY: TOWARDS INCLUSIVITY EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SC/ST ENTREPRENEURS.A seminar was organised by CSSEIP School of Social Sciences, JNU on exploring opportunities for SC/ST Entrepreneurs on 24.07.19. Special Guest Shri P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) NSIC delivered a lecture on schemes of Ministry of MSME and NSIC to the JNU scholars. DPM mentioned about the various new initiatives taken by the Govt. of India for creating the self-employment opportunities available for the aspiring entrepreneurs. He also mentioned about the digital initiatives taken by Govt. of India towards ease of doing business. DPM also explained about the Successful implementation of smooth registration of manufacturing and service units through Udyog Aadhaar memorandum (UAM), financial solution to MSEs through TReDS, Delayed payment monitoring and its solution through MSME Samadhaan and monitoring of Procurement from MSEs by Govt. Departments through MSME Sambandh portals. Inaugural Address was given by Prof. Chintamani Mahapatra, Rector-I, JNU. Key note Address was given by Professor Srinivas Bathula, Department of Economics, Jamia Milia University. Shri Y. Chinna Rao, Seminar Coordinator, and Chairperson, CSSEIP, SSS, JNU delivered the Vote of Thanks.

National and International Participants from UK and Bolivia along with Indian Govt. Officials & Entrepreneurs were invited by the organizers for the Summit. Sh. P. Udayakumar - NSIC -Director (P&M), delivered Special Inaugural address in the EV summit-2019 on the National and State policies, EV Charging Infrastructure scope, EV Market Growth, Evolving Technology, Planning for the Future, Manufacturing of private/public EV vehicles ,sub systems and scope of MSMEs. Director (P&M) had a discussions / deliberations with Mr. J. J. Cortez - Ambassador, Plurinational State of Bolivia Country on the Battery Manufacturing and Assembly and scope of MSME’s & Role of NSIC. They have shown very keen interest to have an association/collaboration with NSIC in the areas beneficial of Indian MSMEs. Director (P&M) also had discussions / deliberations with Mr.William Hopkinson - British Deputy High Commissioner Hyderabad |First Secretary British Deputy High Commission Mumbai. Sh. Prabhu Raj, General Manager-NTSC, Hyderabad & Sh. Srinivas Rao– Zonal General Manager- NSIC, South zone-II also participated in the summit.

Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) organized SOUTH INDIA AGRO EXPO 2019 Exhibition at Tumkur from 19th to 21st July 2019. NSIC-NSSHO, Bangalore has extended stall subsidy for 17 SC-ST units for the said exhibition. Exhibition was inaugurated by Shri.H.P.Prakash, IAS, Director & Managing Director of Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC), Bangalore, Smt.Lalitha Ravish, Mayor of Tumkur City Municipal Corporation along with Shri.R.Raju, President, KASSIA, Shri.P.Ravi Kumar, CGM, NSIC, Bangalore and other office bearers of KASSIA.

Interaction with New office bearers of Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), President Mr.R.Raju and General Secretary Mr.M.G.Rajagopal, with Shri P.Ravikumar,Chief General Manager, Zone South-I. Discussion revolved around working together for development of MSME in Karnataka and in engaging to explore further such opportunities.

A Programme on Tribal Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Conference was organized by Nilgiris Adivasi Welfare Association – NAWA in association with NSIC on the event of marking 102nd Birthday Anniversary of Padmashri Dr.S.Narasimhan, the founder of NAWA. Inaugural and Welcome address was given by Shri M.Alwas – Secretary, Nilgiris Adivasi Welfare Association – NAWA. Honourable Governor of Tamil Nadu, His Excellency Shri. Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Guest addressed the gathering and appealed to tribals to fully utilize the Government schemes to move up the ladder of development. Shri P.Udayakumar, Director - Planning and Marketing – NSIC during his Special Address mentioned about the work of Nilgiris Adivasi Welfare Association – NAWA Team and its Secretary Shri M.Alwas for the development activities in the areas of Eco Tourism, Self Help Group Development, Dairy Farming, Herbal Cultivation, BPO Centre, TEA Cultivation etc.. Director – P&M mentioned that NSIC is ready to work along with State Government Departments to extend the support for this community through the schemes of National SC ST Hub-NSSH through our offices. Special Address was given by Dr.Rajalakshmi Subramanian, President, NAWA, Smt. J.Innocent Divya, IAS, District Collector, Nilgiris Dist and Smt. D. Shanmuga Priya IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nilgris Dist. Dr.Rajalakshmi Subramanian, President, NAWA addressed the gathering and elaborated about the activities of the association since their beginning way back in 1958 with the focus on attending to primary health care and education. Vote of Thanks was given by Shri.M.Shanmugham, Treasurer, NAWA. A separate session was conducted during which Director-P&M distributed the awards for the outstanding entrepreneurs and urged them to utilise all the schemes from the state and Central Governments for their developments. Director-P&M had individual interaction with all the exhibitors and advised them to get the necessary support from the nearby NSIC Branch.

International Machine Tools & Industrial Trade Fair, INTEC 2019 was organised by Coimbatore District Small Industries Association - CODISSIA from 6th -10th June 2019 in which 32 MSE units availed subsidised stall through NSIC – SMAS & PMSS. Special Guest Shri P. Udayakumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) NSIC addressed the gathering and appreciated the continuous work of CODISSIA and also mentioned about CODISSIA Defence Innovation Centre. DPM also mentioned about the successful implementation of UAM, TReDS, MSME Samadhaan and MSME Sambandh portals for the ease of doing business by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Welcome address was given by Shri R. Ramamurthy, President, Chairman INTEC 2019 Shri J.Balu briefed about the event and mentioned that there are 574 exhibitors and 12 Overseas Exhibitors. Special Guest Ms.Karin Christina Maria Stoll, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Chennai stressed on the importance of Bilateral Relationship which will make both India and Germany to be stronger in industrial business and institutional cooperation. Shri.Sriram Viji, Deputy Managing Director, Brakes India Limited, Chennai said that India is the 6th Largest Economy in World. The growth is followed through various Infrastructure works on all areas. He also mentioned that MSMEs play a vital role for the growth of Economy. Shri P.S.Devaraj, Hon.Secretary, CODISSIA delivered the Vote of Thanks.

A sapling was also planted by Dr.A.K.Panda, Secretary ,MSME in the presence of Shri Ram Mohan Mishra ,CMD,NSIC . Also present on the occasion were Ms.Alka Arora, Joint Secretary ,MSME,Shri.D.P.S. Negi , Economic Advisor (MSME) ,ShriP.Udayakumar,Director(P&M),NSIC , and senior officials of Ministry of MSME and NSIC.
